I am HARSHVARDHAN SINGH CHAUHAN (HarshuBuilds). A product-first software builder based in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This is my manifesto: how I think, how I build, and where I am headed.

01 / STORY

The Clay and the Code

Rajasthan is a place where structures endure. In Jaipur, my home, buildings are crafted from pink sandstone, standing strong against the desert sun for hundreds of years. The craftsmen who built them didn't look for shortcuts; they selected the right materials and assembled them with extreme structural focus.

When I first encountered programming, I didn't see text on a screen—I saw a virtual sandstone. Software offered an infinite sandbox where I could write logic to create tools capable of helping people anywhere in the world. I was hooked instantly.

Starting out of sheer student curiosity, my laptop became a workshop. I didn't want to read theories; I wanted to build. The spark was realizing that software allows a single developer to build systems that act as leverage—amplifying human ability.

02 / PHILOSOPHY

Core Engineering Principles

I believe the web portfolio ecosystem is currently filled with generic layouts and shallow skill collections. I do not collect tech stack keywords. I value utility, speed, design simplicity, and clean code paths.

Utility-First Engineering

Code is a tool, not a monument.

A perfect codebase that sits idle serves no purpose. I build software to solve actual pain points for real users. Design systems, performance tuning, and clean architecture are vital because they directly impact human utility and respect the user's time.

Velocity as a Signal

Ship early, iterate ruthlessly.

The fastest way to learn is by deploying. Running 48h hackathons taught me to scope ruthlessly. A working product in production provides the highest fidelity feedback loop. I prefer launching a clean, functional core rather than waiting to build a complex monolith.

Orchestrating Intelligence

AI is infrastructure, not magic.

LLMs are probabilistic engines. Building reliable AI products requires placing these engines inside deterministic wrapper logic—managing state, telemetry, edge execution, and billing. I treat AI as a powerful computing primitive, similar to a database.

Continuous Depth

Master the fundamentals.

Frameworks and APIs change yearly, but client-server architecture, database indexing, caching strategies, and data structures are eternal. I invest heavily in understanding the underlying layers to write fast, predictable, and scalable software.

03 / PROCESS

The Execution Loop

Theoretical knowledge is fragile. Building systems under real-world constraints is what creates engineering judgment. Here is how I structure my learning and development loop.

How I Learn

  • Deconstructive Analysis: I open up well-written open-source codebases, libraries, and frameworks to understand exactly how core features are engineered.
  • Hypothesis Testing: Instead of watching long video series, I set up tiny, isolated sandbox directories to run code experiments and test edge cases.
  • Constraint Breeding: I put myself in high-pressure hackathons. Constraints force me to skip minor details and focus strictly on creating value.

How I Build

  • Telemetry and Insight:I don't guess how users behave. I embed telemetry tools like PostHog early to watch interaction drop-offs and API speed.
  • Aesthetic Rigor: Good design respects the user. I utilize precise custom layouts, clear grid lines, and purposeful micro-animations.
  • Full-Cycle Engineering: I build everything needed to launch. This includes database schemas, edge-based execution, authentication, and payment sync.
04 / EVOLUTION

Mindset Shifts

My journey hasn't been a straight line of years. It is an acceleration of mindset shifts—moving from running basic scripts to shipping integrated products with paying customers.

Phase 07 · 2026

SaaS Engineering & Monetization

Building ScriptViral

Created ScriptViral, a SaaS platform transforming long-form content into social media posts. Built the entire transaction cycle: Clerk auth, Stripe subscriptions, PostHog telemetry, and async AI generation.

Mindset Shift: Moved from building cool tools to engineering viable software products that capture and retain users.

My journey doesn't stop at creating single-user apps. I am building towards a future founder roadmap. The next chapter is about scaling software products beyond me and creating long-term value.
